Hearing/Seeing: Mahler

The Czech Philharmonic and Galerie Rudolfinum, with the support of Studio Lunchmeat, announce the continuation of the Hearing/Seeing project. This time, the impulse is the release of a complete recording of all nine symphonies by Gustav Mahler in a new interpretation under the direction of Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov. The Czech Philharmonic is releasing this extraordinary complete set for the second time — the first was in the 1980s with Chief Conductor Václav Neumann, and now in a new interpretative perspective.

We invite emerging audiovisual artists to collaborate on a series of original videos that will enter into dialogue with Mahler’s music. The aim is to create a cohesive collection of works connected both visually and rhythmically.

More information about the Hearing/Seeing: Mahler project can be found here.

Applications are open from 18 May 2026 until 20 June 2026 (midnight). You can apply here.
