Programmes for Schools

We offer guided tours and workshops to elementary schools, high schools, colleges, universities, and other interest groups, such as seniors and visitors requiring special assistance. The tours allow visitors to become critically and creatively engaged in the currently open exhibitions and the gallery’s history.

The programmes are available by prior arrangement from Tuesday to Friday, between 10 am and 5 pm. Our experienced instructor from Galerie Rudolfinum will take care of your group and guide you through the programme.

Every programme has to be reserved at least ten days before your visit. Contact us at rajnisova@rudolfinum.org, and please indicate the time and date of your visit, the programme of your choice, and the age and number of interested people. We will send you the details and requirements for the session after your registration

Art and Us

The Art and Us programme is designed for the youngest visitors – children from six to fifteen – and the sessions are always related to the ongoing exhibition. Passing through the exhibition, we will explore who conceives and creates art and how, who arranges the exhibitions, and how contemporary art influences us. The tours for younger audiences are organised in a more entertaining way, while for the older, there is more focus on discussion and the ability to interpret a piece of art and put it in the context of today’s world.

We believe that by reflecting on contemporary art, children develop their creativity, critical thinking, and soft skills, and it is important to us to pass on these skills as much as possible. At the end of the children’s tour, there will be a short visual art activity. This way, we can learn together why creative perception of the world is essential and why we should be interested in art.

Beyond Painting

The programme Beyond Painting has the form of a guided tour by an instructor. It is designed for both high school and university students but also adults. The programme’s content is based on the need to strengthen everyone’s critical and analytical thinking. Art often raises many questions. It is important to raise them correctly, be open, and be able to describe what impact individual things in the world have on us and why. We will discuss why it is relevant to observe contemporary art and experience it first-hand.
