CRASH: Free Lecture Series
Visuality. Technology. Ecology. Participation. Identity and subjectivity.
CRASH – accompanying programme of the Artpark: the free lecture series offers all interested an opportunity to reflect on our ongoing exhibitions in a broader context through meetings with our inspirational guests. Inviting prominent figures from various fields, CRASH brings perspectives and connections, which are necessary to conduct any debates and develop critical thinking. Blending diverse cultural and scientific fields and various life experiences and stances opens up a unique space for reformulations and fresh considerations for respective questions.
Unless otherwise stated, all lectures are held in Czech or Slovak.
What is CRASH about?
In the lectures, the guests of the CRASH lecture series expand the notion of contemporary art by employing different cultural and scientific fields, which may include neurophysiology, philosophy, sociology, and many more. All lectures aim to cultivate topics related to concepts such as visuality, technology, ecology, participation, identity, and subjectivity. These concepts constitute the backbone of the Galerie Rudolfinum Map, installed on the premises of the gallery, which the speakers employ as a roadmap for their reflections on the broader, society-wide context of contemporary art and the world around us.
CRASH follows up on the long-term dramaturgy goal of the Galerie Rudolfinum to build an open space for communication that not only curates exhibitions but also actively publishes and creates educational programmes for schools and the public.
