On the occasion of Designblok 2025, British photographer Mary McCartney will present her work to the Czech public for the first time. McCartney will showcase a selection of iconic works from her thirty-year career in an exhibition titled Mary McCartney: STRIKING by PLAYCE.

The exhibition is curated by Martina Lowe, who has collaborated with McCartney for many years. The show will take place at the Loggia of Galerie Rudolfinum, Designblok’s new 2025 venue, from October 8 to November 2, 2025. At the same time, from October 2 through January 2026, the main halls of Galerie Rudolfinum will host Skin Care, a solo exhibition by Czech artist Kateřina Vincourová. Admission to both exhibitions is free.

The exhibition Mary McCartney: STRIKING by PLAYCE was conceived specifically for the 27th edition of Designblok, whose main theme is Courage – in design, creativity, and thinking. Mary McCartney responded with a selection of photographs celebrating the strength of the female figure, both physical and emotional.

“The selection is based on the theme. I focused on strong women and the female form. Some images are more anonymous, while others engage in strong visual dialogue with the viewer,” says the artist.

The exhibition blends both well-known and lesser-known works, reflecting personal stories, relationships, atmospheres and aesthetic sensitivity. The viewer becomes engaged in these moments, both as a silent observer and a participant.
